Lag in digital marketing
“According to the National Association of Realtors, 90 percent of homebuyers start their real estate search online. The survey, a “Digital Marketing Survey of the U.S. Real Estate Industry,” conducted in 2009 and released this month, found that 76 percent of surveyed companies commit 40 percent or less of their marketing budgets to digital marketing, preferring traditional venues like newspapers and display ads.”
The above is shocking for 2010 and all the focus and attention being put online for real estate. As a technology provider to the real estate industry I am surprised at these statistics. Think about this for a moment . . . 90 percent of the people interested in buying (and I’m sure selling) a home are online!! And your company is only willing to spend less than 40% of the budget on digitial medium! WOW!
